Learning to Trust

Recently I met with a good fellow who turned me onto one of Sarah Young's writings in Jesus Calling.  He shared with me her devotional for Feb. 14th.  I was especially struck by the following sentence being written as if Jesus Himself is the author:

"Trust Me enough to face problems as they come rather than trying to anticipate them."

Through a number of life experiences, I am often trying to stay one step ahead of life.  I find myself always looking for what is around the corner.  Though this can be a valuable skill in which to excel, it strikes me how this can also be evidence of my lack of faith.  My wonderful bride warns me to not "borrow trouble" by considering the worst that might lie in wait around the corner.  Oh, she is so wise!

I know nothing of this author, nor her agenda in penning these words, but I do know that Jesus spoke to me as I read them.  I hope you find them thought-provoking as well.
