Drinking Deeply

"Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, because

'All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever.'

Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you. Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hyp
ocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious." - I Pet. 1:22-2:3

The beautiful and gracious word of God is so full of treasures that we must align our hearts to desire its refreshment daily. Thus allowing us to be quenched by the goodness and loving kindness of our merciful Jesus. In doing so, we begin to see more of Him and less of us. As we increase in our understanding of the value of knowing Him, we begin to see a purity of heart in ourselves. Let us find ourselves coming to the ever flowing well to drink deeply. Receiving in ourselves the wealth of the forever living and abiding word of God.
